Kansas City #Chiefs: Could Tyler Bray Beat Out Ricky Stansi for the 3rd QB Spot?

The most intriguing KC Chiefs position battle that doesn’t involve a starting job comes at quarterback, more specifically the third quarterback. Ricky Stanzi the incumbent is competing with Tyler Bray, the undrafted rookie out of Tennessee. We’ve heard little about the progress of Stanzi but Reid praised Bray when asked about him on Thursday.

“Yeah, I’ll tell you, he did a nice job,” Reid said. “He did a really nice job. You never know until you get them here.

Kansas City Chiefs: Gil Brandt Thinks the Chiefs Can Be a Playoff Team in 2013

I say that to caution you because The Godfather Gil Brandt, of NFL Network, has written this piece where he explains that he can “easily” see the Chiefs in the playoffs this season. Brandt’s reasoning is supported by Clark Hunt and the Chiefs ownership, the head coach / GM combo, upgrading from Matt Cassel to Alex Smith, a defense that should be improved, the addition of Dave Toub as special teams coach and the overall youth of the roster.

Denve Broncos: “Star Struck” Montee Ball is Learning A Lot From Peyton Manning

“At first, I was star struck,” Ball said after Monday’s OTA practice referring to playing alongside Peyton Manning. “I’m not going to lie. I grew up watching him. But now, I don’t want to say he’s (just) another quarterback, but I’m looking at him as someone I’m most definitely learning from.”

Oakland Raiders: Terrelle Pryor is Not Ready to Play Yet According to Dennis Allen

“Yeah, that will come with some in-game experience, but again, at the end of the day everything that we do is being evaluated. So, we watch every single practice snap so I think we go a pretty good idea of where we’re at. And we’re going to continue to give him opportunities to showcase his skills but right now he’s not there yet.”

Oakland Raiders: Dennis Allen Says Darren McFadden Will Run Downhill More This Season

“I think he’s looked good. I think Darren’s excited about the things we’re doing offensively, getting some more gap schemes in there, a little more downhill type of stuff for him, which suits him. He’s obviously one of our more explosive players, so we want to make sure we try to put him in position that he feels good and feels comfortable. I think so far in OTAs he’s looked good.”

Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs Hope to Deploy Diverse Rushing Attack in 2013 Led By Jamaal Charles

“Obviously, we know what he did last year – Pro Bowl running back, had over 1500 yards, excellent, excellent season,” Pederson said of Charles.

“He’s a guy that we can put in multiple spots. He’s a sharp kid. He’s worked extremely hard this offseason. Really, I think the sky is the limit with him, with what we’re trying to do; just put him in different spots and using his ability to, again, create matchups defensively.”

Kansas City Chiefs: Alex Smith is Exactly What the Coaching Staff Was Expecting

He’s been everything that we thought he was,” Chiefs quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy said of Smith, via the Kansas City Star. “He’s a true professional. He’s in his [playbook] every day. He’s always asking questions, trying to get better. He’s being a leader for the other [quarterbacks] as well.”

Alex Smith went from a bust to being traded for a pick at the top of the 2nd round in this past draft.  Why?  Because he excels as a game manager and won’t screw things up.  Don’t the Chiefs need a guy that can win games for them at this point though?

Oakland Raiders: Could Tyler Wilson Be the Next Aaron Rodgers?

Tyler Wilson is quickly becoming a fan favorite amongst Raider Nation and that is even before the fans have gotten the chance to see him on the field wearing the Silver and Black. He was a highly touted college QB at Arkansas before a subpar senior season sent him tumbling down the draft boards.

While the comparison to Aaron Rodgers is a stretch considering Rodgers was a much more highly touted prospect in 2005, it would be a real steal and good for loyal Raiders fans if they struck gold with Wilson in round 4.
