Atlanta #Falcons: Rookie CB Desmond Trufant Could See A Lot of Safety Help in 2013

Depending on the position they play, rookies can be eased into roles or thrown into the fire. When you’re talking about covering opposing #2 receiver, it’s more or less always the latter.

Desmond Trufant seems exceedingly likely to grab that role in 2013, leaving the Falcons to figure out the best way to help him out. Even if Trufant is an immediately terrific cornerback, he’ll go through the growing pains associated with being a rookie and trying to cover guys who are bigger, faster, stronger and more experienced than college players. That’s not an easy task.

Indianapolis #Colts: A Profile of Free Agent Pickup OL Donald Thomas

Much has been made this offseason of the addition of offensive lineman Gosder Cherilus, who will be starting at right tackle for the Colts. Not as much has been made of the addition of offensive lineman Donald Thomas, despite the fact that he very well could be starting on the line too.

Perhaps that has been a mistake.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Jaguars Fans Find Themselves in Self Defense Mode

In what has been a rather annoying week of national media reporting regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars, it is just another day in the life of a Jaguars fan.

From New York Post writer Bart Hubbuch to well-known CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora, the Jaguars’ fanbase has been hit over and over again with rumors based on Roger Goodell’s statements regarding the NFL in London, England.

From playing two home games in London to eventually moving there, Hubbuch and La Canfora are both the epitome of why the Jaguars’ fanbase cannot stand the national media.

Breakdown of the 2013 Houston Texans by a Tennessee Titans Blogger

2013 Outlook: It is the same story over and over for the Texans. Can Matt Schaub and the receivers elevate the passing game? The team has enough firepower to easily beat up the NFL’s weaklings and compete with the top-tier teams. That much has been evident over the past two seasons as the team has put up double-digit victory totals each season. When it comes to elimination games though the team hasn’t mustered up the offense needed to take down the AFC’s elite. That trend could continue this season.

Predicted Record: 11-5

Tennessee Titans: The Titans are Working on Getting Bigger This Offseason

When Mike Munchak was promoted to head coach of the Tennessee Titans in 2011, one of the first things his new defensive coordinator, Jerry Gray, talked about was the need for the team to get bigger. The Titans had been a pretty good pass-rushing team. Smaller, quicker rushers may have been getting to the passer, but the team’s run defense had slipped. Adding stouter players would bolster the run defense and help everything, the Titans reasoned.

Tennessee Titans: Titans WR/KR Marc Mariani is Working Hard to Make a Comeback After Broken Leg Injury

“Every rep for me is huge just because I need to make up for time lost, so I’d say I’m getting there,” Mariani said. “I’m gaining confidence but it’s definitely a battle and I’ve still got some work in front of me so it’s good to be able to participate and not have to wait to be able to be thrown in there, but I definitely have some work to do.”
